Reverse the Curse
Since Babe Ruth was traded to the hated NY Yankees, Boston baseball fans have come to know that sinking feeling. It's the curse. Then, heroically, the curse was lifted in October of 2004, when the Boston Red Sox won the World Series. Curse reversed!
We in the reverse mortgage industry are still heavy laden with a curse, however. Everyday we encounter misunderstandings and prejudices against the product we offer to senior homeowners. Many people in New England still believe that a reverse mortgage is a sentence of death. Many think that it is a sign of weakness to seek a reverse mortgage. Many people in the Boston area are suspicious of reverse mortgage originators, as though they are all cheaters who doctor the baseball and cork their bats.
It's time to reverse the curse. It's time to embrace the testimonies of seniors who have seen their financial independence restored thanks to the income that a reverse mortgage provided. It's time to rejoice with retired homeowners who can now afford to pay their medical bills, or eliminate their monthly mortgage payments, or even take that dream vacation they'd always wanted to. It's time.
